St. George’s, Tubbercurry
Tubbercurry (Tobar an Choire, meaning “well of the corrie”) is the second-largest town in terms of both population and land area in County Sligo. It lies at the foot of the Ox mountains on the N17 national route. There are 34 households in the parish with a church population of 67. The Church was dedicated to St. George. There is a Sunday School each Sunday. A Group Branch of Mothers’ Union meets alternately in Tubbercurry and Rathbarron.
